Funk Soup was a show that featured two acts, “Cyber/Fetish” and “The Funk Soup Collective” which incorporated dance, theater, poetry and dialogue. It was presented at the Off Center Theater (now the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts) in 1999. “Cyber/Fetish” was a tongue-in-cheek look at how cyber-reality had begun to permeate society. “The Funk Soup Collective was an improvisational performance in which audience suggestion initiated performer response in spoken word, dance, music and poetry.
