The Czech countryside is beautiful and the dropzone is like a little village set amidst some hills. Can’t wait to jump here tomorrow.

Just arrived to Skydive Klatovy after a long but pretty drive up from Vienna. Klatovy is about 1 1/2 hrs south of Prague, and during the months of April-May and August, the Pink Skyvan is there, which means party time skydive style.
The dropzone is so cute and charming — like a little village set amidst the rolling hills, with lots of room to land. It’s gorgeous here and so quiet. Not so sure how my New York-mode will adjust to all this quiet and green-ness, but so far, so good. 🙂

Cabula6’s Crash Course: a wonderful twist

My friends at Cabula6 presented a performance with a twist: the audience was invited ‘onstage’ at TanzQuartier Wien to cook recipes culled from the folks at the Macondo refugee community, then the Macondo folks came in to a huge surprise & we all had dinner together, with performance interludes featuring scenes about the ‘slippery search for home’

Jeremy & Claudia from Cabula6 have kept this a secret for weeks, saying only that it’s a surprise while exchanging stealthy glances with their cast & crew. They’ve been living in the Macondo for the past 6 months, getting to know the community inside-out & realizing projects like this & the Macondo Bus Stop/Living Maps project, among many others.

An absolutely wonderful night with delicious convos & cuisine, calling forth ideas & questions of “home” while making us all feel at home like one large family gathering for a feast.

Kudos to Cabula6 🙂

First time driving a Smart car. Cute lil thing but hardly any pickup. Gr8 mileage tho-drove ~100 mi & only spent 6 euro in diesel

Check out the paint job on this bird. It’s a Dornier Do28-G92 & can climb to 13,000 ft in under 10 mins. Zoooom!
